Overview

Unseen Realms Journal relies on the expertise and scholarly judgment of its reviewers to ensure that submissions are evaluated in accordance with the journal’s academic and editorial standards.

Review Principles

     Reviewers are expected to:

  • Evaluate submissions fairly, objectively, and in a timely manner

  • Assess the originality, clarity, coherence, and scholarly contribution of the work

  • Provide constructive, respectful, and actionable feedback to authors

  • Distinguish between personal preference and scholarly merit

Confidentiality

All manuscripts under review are confidential documents.

Reviewers must not:

  • Share, discuss, or distribute manuscripts or their contents with others

  • Use unpublished material for personal research or advantage

Confidentiality must be maintained throughout the review process and with respect to any unpublished material and review-related information thereafter.

Review Models

The journal’s primary research articles are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process.

Certain supplementary or invited content may undergo alternative forms of assessment, such as editorial review or single-blind review, as clearly indicated at the time of publication.

Reviewer Conduct

    Reviewers are expected to:

  • Refrain from personal criticism or inappropriate language

  • Avoid imposing theoretical, methodological, or ideological preferences unrelated to the manuscript’s aims

  • Support editorial decisions with clear reasoning

Eligibility

Reviewers are selected based on their academic background, research experience, or demonstrated expertise relevant to the submission.

Institutional affiliation is not a prerequisite. Independent scholars with appropriate expertise may also be invited to serve as reviewers.

Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers should disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could compromise, or be perceived to compromise, their objectivity.

If a conflict exists, reviewers are expected to decline the review invitation.
